Bahamas Makes Sub-Zonal Opening Move

GENERAL REGULATIONS

INVITATION

The Bahamas Chess Federation (BCF) has the honour of inviting National Chess Federations to participate in The Caribbean Chess Sub Zonal 2.3 2010 to be held at Nassau, Bahamas from Friday 25th June, 2010 (Arrival) to Thursday 1st July, 2010 (Departure). The list of invited Chess Federations alone with the number of official players are as follows:

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The event is regulated by The Official Laws of Chess as published by FIDE, the “REGULATIONS FOR THE AMERICA’S MEN SUBZONAL TOURNAMENT” and the present General Conditions.

In addition, to the Official Players each Federation can nominate and enter 5 additional chess players. The costs (entry fee, room and board etc) of the additional players will be the responsibility of the respective Federations.

Room and Board for official players will be provided for by the Organizer from 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival to 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

CONDITION OF ENTRY – FEES

Each participant must pay US $75 to the Organizing Committee as a registration fee.

REGISTRATION AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS

All entries are to be submitted in writing to the Organising Committee on or before April 30, 2010. All nominated players must register through their respective National Federations.

The entries must include the surname/s, first name/s, FIDE ID number, FIDE rating and passport number of each player and each accompanying person.

Transportation from and to the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) will be provided by the BCF. Transportation from the LPIA on the day of arrival will depart at 3:00 p.m. On the day of departure transportation will depart the Hotel for the LPIA at 4:00 p.m. Players and accompanying persons departing at times other than those above must organise transportation by themselves.

ACCOMMODATION

Players will be accommodated at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, Nassau.

FORMAT, RULES AND REGULATIONS

The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds. Rate of play will be according to FIDE regulations 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the Game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
