Caribbean Chess Carnival

Get ready and moving for the Caribbean Chess Carnival” - our Open International tournament which will take place from August 4th – August 9th, 2009. This year’s tournament promises Cash prizes for the first 5 places in each section and trophies to the top 10 finishers in each section. So start preparing now to win a share in the Chess Carnival’s cash prize fund of $5,000 United States dollars. Once again Caribbean Money Market Brokers (CMMB) will be partnering with us in sponsoring this event.

The cash prize fund is USD$5,000.

The championship will feature 9 rounds, played in the Swiss system in accordance with the tournament rules and FIDE Laws of Chess. Playing time will be 90 minutes with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

The following the entry fees: Junior Sections USD$30.00 Open Section USD$80.00. The Venue for the tournament is the Queen’s Park Cricket Club, at the Oval in Port of Spain.

The tournament is being held under the auspices of the Trinidad and Tobago Chess Association, a FIDE affiliate and the results would be submitted to FIDE for rating.

Come and compete against players from Cuba, Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, United States, Suriname and Venezuela!
